JANUARY - Katrina Wiens

Jonea Mohn grew up surrounded by art and music. Her mother is an artist and educator in Jonea’s hometown near the Ozarks in Arkansas, and her father, an avid photographer, gave Jonea her first point-and-shoot camera when she was nine-years-old. Because her family had a love for everything outdoors, nature became and has remained a common theme in her artwork and photography.

After changing from violin performance, Jonea completed a BFA in Design at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro with an emphasis on photography and drawing.

After graduation, she traveled to and through China with a group of student photographers, focusing on storytelling, documentary photography, and studying with masters in advertising at the Nanjing Normal School of Photography.
Jonea moved to Knoxville from North Carolina in the summer of 2014. While her professional work has been directed toward portraiture and photography instruction, her personal endeavors are still steeped in her love for the outdoors and the activities she enjoys. In the last few years, she has developed a love for macro and long exposure images.

MARCH - Rachel elise

Known by some as the Dos Equis girl, and to others toto, or the thesaurus, Rachel is the antonym of simple. She graduated from Kansas State University in 2009 with a Masters degree in Interior Architecture & Product Design, and after rounding off her studies at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland, UK she pursued formal education in Graphic Design from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. The many years of education are a mirror of her flair for athletics, and adrenaline. She is an avid Volleyball and Basketball player, and pending the weather can be found snowboarding or kayaking. She is also a member of the American Institute of Graphic Artists.

APRIL - misty wong

Misty has a passion for adventure photography. Her love for photography started only a year and a half ago, but her love of outdoor adventures began long before that.  From thru hiking the Appalachian Trail, running 100 mile races in the mountains to rock climbing, she has a constant desire to connect with nature. But when a race director asked her to take finish line photos as a volunteer, it was then that she discovered her fascination with photography. She quickly fell in love with being able to tell a small part of someone’s journey with a picture and has since photographed numerous mountain races and people doing what they enjoy in the great outdoors.

MAY - Kristi Parsons

Welcome! I am a photographer and writer based out of Knoxville, TN. My heart is in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, but I love to roam all over the southern Appalachians, southeast, Tennessee's Cumberland Plateau and in all areas where nature's breathtaking beauty can be found. I hope that you enjoy viewing just a sliver of the beautiful moments that I've been blessed to experience over the past couple of years.

october- Kevin Flint

Kevin Flint grew up in the shadows of the Smoky Mountains where the allure of mountain exploration and adventure sport called to him. He channeled his passion for exploring wild and remote lands, and the destinations along the way, into a career. Kevin shares his experiences with the world through his website and social media while also creating content for travel destinations, outdoor brands, and businesses. His sport of choice is rock climbing, but he also enjoys skiing, whitewater kayaking, backpacking, hang gliding, paddleboarding, and biking. The only thing that comes close to adventure sports in his mind is dogs. He cannot pass a dog without stopping to say hi! "
